USHAŞ Delegation Shared Our Health Tourism Vision with European Press Members

The USHAŞ delegation met with members of the press from different parts of Europe and gave information about Turkey’s vision in health tourism, its investments in the health sector and goals.

Journalists working for Germany’s most prestigious media organs, Turkish Medical City Patient Services Manager Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu and Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital Coordinator Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Nurettin Yiyit have participated at the conference which was held with the contributions of the T.R. Presidency Investment Office.

At the conference, Turkish Medical City Patient Services Manager Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu, giving information about our institution and our work, said, “The new rising star of Turkey is health tourism. As USHAŞ, we aim to expand our investments in this field under the leadership of the Ministry of Health. In this context, our target countries include neighbouring countries, Balkan countries and Middle East countries. In addition, it is among our goals to reach Europe in a short time with the activities we carry out to move our country forward in terms of health tourism.” Salihoğlu also emphasized in her speech that Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital houses more than one hospital within a single campus, and provides for the patients travelling to our country for treatment superior and accessible healthcare services.

Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital Coordinator Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Nurettin Yiyit made a presentation at the conference that included the introduction of the hospital. Yiyit which stated that Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Hospital is the second largest city hospital in Turkey, added to his words: “We are combining a total of 8 hospitals in a single centre. There are 710 examination rooms, 90 operation rooms and 456 intensive care units on our campus. These centres, and especially our high-tech medical equipment, have been a great source of power in getting through the difficult process of the pandemic period.” said. While talking about the hospital’s goals in his speech, the chief physician made statements that the service areas of the hospital will be expanded within two years.

After the conference, Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu and Prof. Dr. Nurettin Yiyit answered the questions of the members of the press and gave detailed information to the delegation which made observations of the hospital, about the health tourism of our country, the facilities of the hospital and the technological medical infrastructure.
