USHAŞ once again demonstrated Turkey’s strength in health tourism on the international platform by participating in the 3rd Berlin International Health Tourism Expo (3rd Berlin International Health Tourism Fair, Conference and B2B Seminar) held on April 4, 2025 in Berlin, Germany. The fair was organized by ALZ International with the participation of many hospitals and clinics from leading countries in health tourism as well as Turkey. The event attracted attention with the aim of improving health relations between countries and building bridges in the global health sector.
Mr. Behlül ÜNVER, General Manager of USHAŞ, took part in the event as a speaker. Mr. Cihat ALAGÖZ, Chairman of the Board of ALZ Group, Mr. Gökhan TURAN, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Berlin, Mr. Okan ŞANLI, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Berlin, Mr. Tarık AKSOY, Head of Health Tourism Department of the Ministry of Trade, Ms. Elif URAL, Board Member of TÜRSAB, Mr. Volker ADAMS, Vice President of the German Travel Association (DRV) and Mr. Tolga T. TUNCER, General Manager of One Dose Health also attended the fair.
Following the opening speeches, Mr. Behlül ÜNVER held bilateral meetings with Mr. Gökhan TURAN and Mr. Okan ŞANLI. During the meeting, it was brought to the agenda that Turkish citizens living in Germany cannot benefit from health insurance in Turkey; however, they benefit from this right in Germany. The importance of conducting joint studies to solve this problem was emphasized.
During the meetings, Mr. Behlül ÜNVER talked about USHAŞ’s fields of activity, its role as a regulator and guarantor in Turkey’s healthcare system, its national and international achievements, and its structure that combines public power with private sector dynamism. In addition, many topics such as hospital investment, operation and management, public-private cooperation projects, pharmaceutical and medical device supply, and cooperation with healthcare companies in Germany were discussed. Thermal tourism, disabled tourism, geriatric tourism, sports health, spa and wellness, which are developing sub-headings of health tourism, were also mentioned.
