On October 19, 2024, Mr. Behlül Ünver, General Manager of USHAŞ, held an important meeting with Mr. Anvarjon Otakhodjaev, Governor of Namangan City, Uzbekistan. The main purpose of the visit was to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare and to improve the quality of healthcare services in Namangan. Although the meeting was held in a limited time frame, it was very productive and important agreements were made on the steps to be taken in the field of health. It was agreed to reach agreements on the supply of medicines and medical devices from Turkey and to take concrete steps to improve healthcare services in Namangan.
In addition, issues such as increasing the qualifications of healthcare professionals in Uzbekistan, transferring Turkey’s experience in the healthcare system to Uzbekistan and bringing qualified specialists to Namangan were also discussed. Turkey’s long-developed healthcare infrastructure and training of professional healthcare workers were considered as a model to improve the quality of services provided in Namangan.
The supply of pharmaceuticals and medical devices from Turkey will greatly contribute to the development of local healthcare services in Uzbekistan and pave the way for the rapid implementation of the projects carried out by the two countries. During the visit, it was also agreed on the modernization of health facilities in Namangan and the launch of innovative projects under the guidance of Turkey. In this context, it was also agreed to deepen cooperation between the two countries on the training of healthcare professionals.
This cooperation with Uzbekistan stands out as part of USHAŞ’s mission to open Turkey’s healthcare system to the world and promises long-term gains for both countries. The visit of Mr. Behlül ÜNVER, General Manager of USHAŞ, was widely covered in the Uzbekistan media.
Mr. Behlül Ünver, General Manager of USHAŞ, stated that hospitals in other cities of Uzbekistan will also be examined in the continuation of the visit and studies will be carried out to further improve healthcare services, especially projects related to diabetes and metabolic diseases. As Turkey’s healthcare sector continues to grow with international collaborations under the leadership of USHAŞ, this visit is considered as an important step in establishing long-term relations with Uzbekistan.
