USHAŞ held a high-level meeting with Georgia on March 20, 2025 in order to improve cooperation in the field of health. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mikheil SARJVELADZE, Minister of Displaced Persons in Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Mr. Ensar DOĞAN, Minister Counselor of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye and Mr. Ali Kaan ORBAY, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Tbilisi.
Mr. Behlül ÜNVER, General Manager of USHAŞ, emphasized the role of USHAŞ in the health sector and Türkiye’s achievements in the field of health. During the meeting, the goal of opening a health office in Batumi, the appointment of specialist doctors from Türkiye and training programs for health professionals were discussed. In addition, the wide range of services offered by Türkiye in the field of health tourism was underlined, with the “HealthTürkiye” web portal providing patients with access to trusted healthcare organizations. The Georgian side stated that they would like to benefit from Türkiye’s digital health systems and that the process of treating state-sponsored patients in Türkiye could be carried out through USHAŞ.
While areas of cooperation such as pharmaceutical and medical device supply, digital health information systems and health insurances were evaluated, it was emphasized that USHAŞ is ready to contribute to the development of healthcare services in Georgia. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed that legal and administrative processes should be accelerated in order to strengthen health cooperation between the two countries.
